First Baptist Church Taos New Mexico Ministries Mission Work Opportunity

The Baptist camp at Inlow is now accepting work crews from the various churches of New Mexico to help them accomplish their “Extreme Inlow Makeover, Landscape Edition.”

The time frame for the work is between September 5th and September 21st. This is in response to the fire that devastated much of the area around the camp this past summer. Work crews from any church need to fill out the appropriate form (our pastor has the form and it will also be posted in the fellowship hall) and send it to the camp via fax or e-mail.

Crews will need to bring landscaping tools such as lawn-mowers, wheel barrows, weed-eaters, shovels, rakes, chain-saws, and appropriate safety equipment for running the power tools, i.e. ear plugs safety-glasses, etc. Crews will also need to bring their own bedding, personal toiletries, and food for meals.

The kitchen facilities will be available for meal preparation, along with an outdoor grill and campfire. In addition, each worker must have a completed Volunteer Medical Release Form (downloaded from www.Inlowcamp.com) with them when they arrive.

In addition to work crews coming to help with clean up of the grounds and surrounding area, Inlow has asked that we also remember their “number one need, FINANCIAL SUPPORT.” All checks should be mailed to Inlow Baptist Camp at P.O. Box 258 Torreon, New Mexico 87061.

The camp is currently doing fund-raising with the sale of T-shirts for $24.00 each (plus $5.00 shipping and handling). You would send your request for a t-shirt to the same address with a letter requesting the size and number of shirts you would like. We are passing this information along to all of our members and friends because our Baptist camps play such an important role in the life of our denomination and the lives of so many people. God bless.

Men's Prayer Breakfasts

Our church is calling on all of the men and young men to join us for a “prayer breakfast” on August 13th at 8:00 am in the fellowship hall.

Immediately following the meal, we will enter into a time of prayer to seek God’s vision for our church and to seek His direction for our place of service here.

I also want to say how proud I am of the youth in our church in general but to highlight Edwin, JB & Selah who went on our mission trip to Romania. The three of them where fantastic in their hearts for service - even if they felt uncomfortable. Like taking pasrt in worship dance or even Selah wearing a skirt! Thank you all for making a trip bless me also. Check out our slide shows of the trip here>>
