First Baptist Church Taos New Mexico The Pastors CornerA New Tradition is born

For the first time in recent history, FBC Taos had two services on Easter. The 9:30 am service was largely attended by visitors with the members being the mainstay for the 11am service.

In keeping with our calling as an outreach ministry for Taos, in the future, FBC Taos plans on having two services on holiday weekends. This gives both locals and visitors a chance to worship and get on with their holiday plans.

Now What?

First Baptist Taos is plugged into the national Evangelistic Response Center (ERC). This means that when someone anywhere in the country responds to an ad on TV or in print and calls 1-866-Jesus-20, they will reach an intake worker who will determine the nature of the need, then forward the call to a Telephone Encourager. The NAMB is embarking on a massive advertising campaign to saturate the country with offers of spiritual help.

Tuesday morning prayer is at 8am in Pastor Bill's office. Afterwards, you are invited to be blessed by going to the Taos Living Center with Henry Ostrander and Sam Chisolm to minister to the residents, staff and families at 10:30am. However, Henry will be returning to Philmont once again to do historical presentations at the Kit Carson Museum from May 21-August 20th M-F. Anybody interested in assisting with the Living Center ministry please contact the church.

Pastor Bill will continue our Wed. night Bible Study Wednesdays at 6:30pm on Ezekiel. Lisa Cloninger began a 7 week study on Fasting in February. Since she migrates between two states, the classes will continue on Wednesday evenings once she returns in May.

Remember that we are still working towards our goal of $4000 for Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. This not only supports missionaries, but also outreaches such as Disaster Relief and the Evangelistic Outreach Center.

Please consider joining the garden ministry as we began planting in April at the Smedly Compound. This is not only a great church-wide ministry, but also reaches many in the community.

Welcome new members Henry St. Pierre, Sam and Rosemarie Chisolm! We appreciate the way Sam and Rosemarie have jumped right into church ministries and Henry's willingness to help out wherever there is a need.

Please pray for the Youth Pastor Search Committee as they have identified a young man and are following up.

Thank you, Claude Jones, for your service and wisdom as you become inactive as a deacon due to your life circumstances. We will hold you and Alice in prayer as you continue to pray for us.

Baby Bottles are due May 1st for the New Life Pregnancy Center Fund Raiser.

Glorieta!

Praise and Worship Week will be August 2nd-5th. Jeo and Ellen have reserved the Clayton Cabin, so you are invited to come for a great week (or just day) of music and preaching. Mike Harland will be the Pastor with Craig Adams once again leading the music.

Dennis Jernigan will be doing a special concert one night (note how many of the songs in our hymnbook he composed!) with Marshall Hall, formerly with the Gaithers, ministering thru music another night.

You can pay by the day or the week and it is $30/night to stay at the cabin.
