Our Pastor
Bill Lord and his wife Peggy answered God's call in July of 2009 to come to Taos to lead First Baptist Church.
Bill was born on March 4, 1953 in Jesup, Ga. He grew up in Southeastern, Ga. and Northeastern Fl. He joined the United States Marines in 1972 and served six years.
After six years of service, Bill worked in the civilian aviation industry from 1980 until 2008. Bill’s aviation career spanned over thirty years and many different countries.
Bill was called into the ministry in 2000 at which time he undertook God’s preparation for ministry. He performed his under graduate work at Wayland Baptist University. After graduating from Wayland Baptist University, Bill attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth Texas. He graduated from the seminary on May 8, 2009 with a Master of Divinity.
Bill’s wife Peggy was born in Thomaston Ga. on October 17, 1956. She also grew up in Southeastern Ga. Bill and Peggy met in high school and have been companions ever since. They have two children; a boy who lives in San Antonio, Texas and a daughter who lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bill and Peggy have a heart for service and ministry outside of the walls of the church.
